Metropolitan Washington, D.C., is the latest area struggling with “flushable” products. Sewer systems there and in other parts of the country are experiencing clogged pipes and jamming pumps as a result of the rapidly growing use of “personal” wipes, as well as recurring issues with items like paper towels, dental floss and baby wipes, that cause “ragging.”
