Service Contractors Central will provide the hub for all QSC Members to network, have fun, learn and connect with current and soon-to-be friends. This Indy-themed area located in the heart of the Westin Indianapolis, will boast virtual reality games, high energy and an IndyCar competition that will send one QSC Member home with bragging rights. PHCC preferred rates will be available until September 8, 2019, or until the group block is sold-out, whichever comes first. These informative behind-the-scenes tours will offer QSC Members the opportunity to see the workings of two of Indianapolis’ incredible facilities. The IU Natatorium, completed in 1982, has been recognized as one of the fastest pools in the world with World and American records having been set by athletes from many countries. Also featured during this QSC Members-Only activity will be the St. Vincent Dolphin Pavilion at Indianapolis Zoo, boasting the nation’s largest Shark Touch Pool and the world’s only underwater dolphin viewing dome.

11:00am-12:00pm Inventory Control Basic Training
Speaker Joe Hodes, President of Hodes Company and an active and supportive QSC Associate member, will deliver this hour-long anecdotal session that will assist attendees in improving inventory control systems, helping them communicate the importance of inventory management with their staff, and a host of other “tricks of the trade” regarding effective control tips and best practices. Joe designed the processes and the systems that he will present as they were based on his first-hand experiences. “I hated seeing too many service companies and contractors waste time and money on parts management” says Hodes. “As a distributor, one of our core areas of expertise is inventory control; it’s what we do all day, every day.” Learn from this industry veteran during this presentation and prepare to be more successful in this area of your business.

This QSC Membership Benefit overview and update, led by QSC Program Director Dave Chic, will give QSC Members the opportunity to be heard, to listen and to weigh-in on the latest and greatest in the QSC world. Come prepared to share and don’t forget, all ideas are good ideas when brainstorming!

All too often we tend to hear but not listen to what’s being said. This solution-based and eye-opening workshop will take a look at the negative impact that this can have in all aspects of your business and perhaps in your interpersonal experiences as well. From engagement with employees to the handling of objections presented by your customers, tips and practices on how to increase how (and if) others hear you will be explored. Session leader Tim McGuire, VP of Content and Community with Pointman, will delve into how to recognize the behaviors that prevent true listening and share tried-and true techniques for breaking these patterns, resulting in stronger relationships with team members and customers.

SESCO Management Consultants, QSC’s retained human resource and employment law specialist for members, will be presenting a one-hour seminar on employer substance abuse policies and marijuana. In this session, Bill Ford, President and CEO will be exploring the challenges employers face as substance abuse is very common, and the costs of substance abuse to employers are high. The seminar will provide statistics on substance abuse, recommendations for policy implementation and challenges employers face with a number of states legalizing marijuana for medical and recreational use.
