PHCC Participates in 3 Percent
Withholding Tax Press
Conference
October 31st, 2011 -
3 percent withholding repeal legislation supported by PHCC was introduced in
the U.S. Senate. PHCC—National participated in a significant press conference
on Capitol Hill today as Sen. Scott Brown (R-MA) urged the Senate to repeal the
3% withholding tax and called for a clean “up or down” vote. Sen. Brown
acknowledged PHCC for its grassroots efforts to repeal the bill in the House.
He also commended the House for passing the repeal with overwhelming bipartisan
support, 405-116. President Obama is expected to sign the repeal
legislation if it is passed by the Senate.
PHCC Meets with Small Business
Administration Chief
Counsel
PHCC—National
met November 1st, 2011 with the Small Business Administration’s (SBA) Chief Counsel of
Advocacy Dr. Winslow Sargeant to discuss the proposed U.S. Dept. of Energy
Workforce Guidelines. PHCC—National will work with Sargeant, a speaker at
the Spring 2011 PHCC Leadership Conference, to ensure that PHCC members are
protected as the negotiations regarding workforce guidelines for home energy
efficiency improvement upgrades continue.
PHCC of Pennsylvania’s Legislative
Win Moves to House Committee
PHCC of Pennsylvania continues its grassroots initiative to pass licensure legislation, PA Senate Bill 747, in the state congress. Now that the bill has passed in the state Senate, the bill moves to the House, where PHCC of Pennsylvania will lobby the committee of jurisdiction to consider and pass the bill. PHCC of Pennsylvania plans to garner support via PHCC—National’s automated letter-writing program.
